The Chargers are back in the finals for the first time since 2008.
Meanwhile, Male is headed to their fifth consecutive 6A title game after literally snatching a victory from the jaws of defeat.
Ballard was leading 20-17 and preparing to take knees with less than a minute to go. Unfortunately, the Bruins were backed up to the goal line and didn’t feel they had room to take a knee so they attempted a quarterback sneak.
Somehow, the snap was bobbled and the ball bounced out of the scrum to the hands of Male defender Korrey Mattingly, who was more than happy to take it into the end zone for the game-winning touchdown.
