Last night after Kentucky defeated Houston to move into the Elite Eight, Governor Matt Bevin was quick to praise the Wildcats.
Bevin immediately took to Twitter to congratulate the Cats:
Elite 8! Congratulations to the @KentuckyMBB and #BBN

The Governor failed to notice that Louisville’s women’s team also advanced to the Elite Eight.
Head coach Jeff Walz called Bevin out:
@GovMattBevin thought you might want to know you have a group of young women @UofLWBB that will be playing in the Elite 8 Sunday also. I’ll make sure to let my players know you said congrats! ♂️

Bevin didn’t acknowledge Walz’s Tweet, but he did eventually post this:
Congratulations to a great team @uoflwbb, as they advance to the Elite 8!
So happy for my good friend @UofLPresNeeli and for all of Cards Nation… https://t.co/qXB8qUudQv— Governor Matt Bevin (@GovMattBevin) March 30, 2019
ESPNw says it’s time to stop forgetting about women’s sports:
