Louisville Suffers Most Heartbreaking Loss of the College Basketball Season

Louisville just had a win over No. 1 Virginia in the bag so to speak. With the win, the Cardinals would have all but locked up a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

The Cards did everything right until the final minute or so. Even after a few miscues, Louisville held a 4-point lead with less than 5 seconds to go.

Next, Darius Perry made a freshman mistake and fouled Virginia’s Ty Jerome on a three-point attempt. Jerome made the first two free throws and there was a lane violation on the third. With 0.9 seconds to play, the Cardinals just needed to get the ball inbounds. Unfortunately, Deng Adel traveled out of bounds and turned the ball over.

Then…this happened:

The Cavaliers scored 5 points in 0.9 seconds to win the game at the buzzer.

This loss could potentially keep Louisville out of the NCAA Tournament.
