Louisville Also Fired Three of Bobby Petrino’s Relatives

In addition to firing Bobby Petrino, Louisville has also fired four other coaches, including three of Petrino’s relatives.

Here are more details from the Courier-Journal:

Assistant coach Nick Petrino, Bobby’s son, and his sons-in-law Ryan Beard and L.D. Scott were also let go, athletic director Vince Tyra said at a press conference Sunday.

Scott has been with Bobby Petrino’s program since 2014 as a defensive line coach. He played defensive tackle for the Cardinals from 2006-09.

Nick Petrino was hired as the quarterbacks coach in 2015, and oversaw the growth and development of Heisman Trophy-winner Lamar Jackson.

Beard was hired as an assistant coach in January 2018. Beard previously worked one season — in 2016 — as the secondary coach at his alma mater Western Kentucky.

Director of football operations Andy Wagner, who is not related to Petrino, is also out, Tyra said. Wagner was hired in 2014 and oversaw travel, finances and game day operations for the team.
