Lindsey Wilson Football slides up to No. 14 in latest NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson football team moved up three spots to No. 14 in the latest NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the national office announced on Monday.

The Blue Raiders received 156 total voting points from the panel of national raters.

The move from No. 17 up to No. 14 comes during an idle week for Lindsey Wilson as the Blue Raiders were off this past Saturday.

Lindsey Wilson is 5-2 overall on the year with a perfect 3-0 record in the Mid-South Conference East Division.

Three of the final four games this season are at home for the Blue Raiders as they host Belhaven (Miss.) on Saturday, followed by a visit from Union (Ky.) on Nov. 1. Lindsey Wilson then travels to Bluefield (Va.) on Nov. 8 before the regular-season finale against Georgetown (Ky.) on Nov. 15 at Blue Raider Stadium.

Four other Mid-South Conference members join Lindsey Wilson in the top 25, including No. 5 Faulkner (Ala.), No. 6 Georgetown, No. 15 Cumberland (Tenn.) and No. 23 Campbellsville (Ky.).

Morningside (Iowa) holds the top spot in the poll for the fifth-straight week garnering 314 total voting points and 13 first-place votes. Baker (Kan.) holds at No. 2 with 302 points and the final first-place vote. Caroll (Mont.) rounds out the top three with 290 points.

Lindsey Wilson football returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 25 as they Blue Raiders host Belhaven. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. CT.
