Blue Raiders received 222 total voting points
COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson College football team cracked the top 10 in this week’s NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the national office announced on Monday.
The Blue Raiders (7-2, 4-0 MSC East) come in at No. 10 after receiving 222 points from the panel of national raters.
The one-spot move up from No. 11 comes two days after the Blue Raiders dismantled visiting Union (Ky.), 49-10.
Quarterback Branden Cresap completed 20-of-30 pass attempts for 275 yards and a touchdown in the win. Cresap also ran a score in, one of six rushing touchdowns on the day for the Blue Raider offense. The Lindsey Wilson defense provided a second-half shutout to help secure the victory.
Five total teams from the Mid-South Conference are ranked in the poll. The Blue Raiders are joined by Faulkner (Ala.) and Georgetown (Ky.) in the top 10. Faulkner comes in at No. 4 with 293 points and Georgetown is No. 6 with 283 points.
Cumberland (Tenn) is No. 19 with 116 points and Campbellsville (Ky.) is No. 25 with 24 points. Reinhardt (Ga.) sits just outside the poll receiving 10 votes.
The top three teams went unchanged as Morningside (Iowa) continues to be the top team with 340 total voting points and all 15 first-place votes. Caroll (Mont.) is second with 327 points and Grand View (Iowa) is third with 313 points.
The Blue Raiders return to action on Saturday, Nov. 8, as they hit the road for the final time in the regular season for a 12:30 p.m. CT kickoff at Bluefield (Va.).
