Kentucky’s Tournament Chances Slim, Spring Practice Starting Up and SEC Finals is Set

march madness
It has been a rough day for Kentucky fans as the NCAA Tournament chances for the Wildcats are looking slim and none.

Southern Miss lost in double overtime earlier in the day and the bubble watch improved, but then Ole Miss beat Vanderbilt.

Jerry Palm has a RPI calculator of how to improve the chances of making it into the tournament. Here is what had to happen today:

Maryland went down to North Carolina 79-76.

It would be hard to argue that Kentucky deserves in the tournament, but here is one article that says their resume isn’t that bad.

It was reported earlier in the day that there is no planned media availability for the Kentucky Wildcats Selection Show. Last season the media was invited to John Calipari’s house for the show with the team. Not this year. Makes you think there isn’t a ton of optimism by the basketball staff.

Kentucky Spring Football starts Monday and the media will be able to attend practice 3 days next week. There will be media availability Monday, Wednesday, Friday for the first week of practice. Make sure you check here for all the coach and player interviews from the first week of Kentucky Spring Football.

As I said earlier, the SEC Finals is set as Florida will play Ole Miss to decide the tournament champion.

Make sure and vote on the homepage if you think Kentucky should accept a NIT bid if they do indeed not make the NCAA Tournament.

Thanks and Go Big Blue!
