The Missouri Tigers presumeably did the Kentucky Wildcats a favor by beating Arkansas last night and solidified the Cats a double bye in the SEC Tournament in St. Louis this week.
But in the long run, does it matter?
This tweet from Around the SEC might make you think it might not matter when Kentucky plays the top 3 seeds in the tournament.
If the top 4 seeds of the SEC Tournament hold, here is how each has fared vs. the others this season:
Auburn: 2-1
Tennessee: 3-1
Florida: 3-1
Kentucky: 0-5— Around the SEC (@AroundTheSEC) March 4, 2018
Kentucky fans are about championships, and I am pretty sure the BBN wants to add to the 30 UK has already won, with the most recent being last season.
Kentucky will play the final team standing from either Missouri and the winner of Georgia and Vanderbilt.
Then the Cats will probably play Auburn.
Kyle Tucker of SEC Country likes Kentucky’s chances to make the finals but could struggle if Tennessee awaits.
Wonder if Kentucky pulled off a Mizzou-Auburn-Tennessee route to the SEC Tournament title how much it would improve the Cats' seeding. I like UK on a neutral court against all but the Vols.
