Well, right now it may not seem possible, but the Kentucky Wildcats still have an opportunity to turn this season around.
But, they’ll have to put forth maximum effort, something we haven’t seen this season.
Here is what the Wildcats must do to turn the season around:
1. Win their next game. This Saturday, the Wildcats take on the South Carolina Gamecocks. The Wildcats have beat the Gamecocks the last two years. If they want to keep momentum going in their favor, beating the Gamecocks is an absolute must-do.
2. Survive against Alabama. The week after the game against the Gamecocks, the Wildcats head down to Tuscaloosa. They just need to survive, come back intact, no fatalities. I’m not on board with an idea that the Wildcats can upset the Crimson Tide, I just need them to survive. If they survive, they will still be on track to turning the season around.
3. Beat Vandy. After a trip to Tuscaloosa, the Wildcats play a struggling Vanderbilt team in Lexington. Win this game, it could be the 3rd win of the season, and then they get an off-week to rest.
There are six more games after the Wildcats off-week. That means there is still a chance to pick up the 6 win season, it may be a small chance, but there is one. The only other automatic loss I can imagine is against Louisville. I hate to admit it, but they’re good…they’re really, really good.
