The Kentucky Wildcats will face Monmouth in the inaugural Citi Hoops Classic on December 9, 2017 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

CINCINNATI, OHIO – G3 is proud to announce the Citi® Hoops Classic featuring the University of Kentucky men’s basketball team. Kentucky, coached by John Calipari, will face Monmouth, coached by King Rice, in the inaugural Citi Hoops Classic on December 9, 2017 at the revered Madison Square Garden in New York City.
“We’re excited to launch the series at iconic Madison Square Garden,” said Tad Ehrbar, Citi SVP of Entertainment & Sports Marketing. “We look forward to an exhilarating atmosphere in December.”
“I’ve looked up to Coach Calipari for a long time,” said Rice. “This game will be a great chance for our two teams to play each other outside of our conferences.”
“This is a great opportunity to play a strong and up and coming team in a historic venue,” said Calipari on the upcoming game. “We love coming to New York and look forward to seeing the Big Blue Nation in full force out east. I’m always excited to partner with Citi to bring great basketball to the fans.”
Tickets will be available for purchase exclusively for Citi cardmembers from August 15 – 24 on CitiPrivatePass.com. Ticket sales will open to the general public on August 25.
The Citi Hoops Classic will also continue in 2018 and the opposing team will be announced at a later date.
