Despite Marques Bolden’s decision to go with Duke, the Kentucky Wildcats still have college basketball’s top recruiting class for 2016.
According to Recruiting Services Consensus Index (RSCI), Kentucky’s recruiting class totals 448 points, which tops Duke by 8 points.
Michigan State, Arizona and UCLA round out the top 5.
Louisville isn’t listed in the top 15.
Here’s a look at the top 3:
1) Kentucky (448 pts)
#6 De’Aaron Fox
#8 Bam Adebayo
#9 Malik Monk
#13 Wenyen Gabriel
#21 Sacha Killeya-Jones
The Cats just did nudge out the Duke for the top class. While the point total is way off the RSCI record UK recorded in 2013 (557 pts), the overall talent in the 2016 class in general is believed to be higher by many making comparisons difficult.
2) Duke (440 pts)
#2 Harry Giles
#3 Jayson Tatum
#11 Marques Bolden
#14 Frank Jackson
#35 Javin DeLaurier
The late addition of a late bloomer (Marques Bolden – up 10 slots in the final rankings) fell just short of UK’s total but with 2 of the top 3, this is a class that will surely keep Duke in its customary spot at or near the top.
3) Michigan State (301 pts)
#10 Miles Bridges
#20 Josh Langford
#29 Cassius Winston
#44 Nick Ward
This class is stacked with top 10 Miles Bridges as the headliner. Watch out Big 10. The Spartans have reloaded.
