By virtue of today’s win over Florida combined with Tennessee’s loss at Auburn, Kentucky has locked up the No. 2 seed in next week’s SEC Tournament.
The No. 2 seed has a more favorable time and quarterfinal opponent than the No. 3 seed.
Kentucky will now face the winner of Thursday’s game between the No. 7 and No. 10 seeds. UK will play in the quarterfinals at 7 p.m. ET on Friday night.
Either way, the Wildcats will likely be in line for a rematch with Tennessee in the semifinals.
