Kentucky lands Drexel transfer Amari Williams, working to add more players soon

Mark Pope and Kentucky reeled in Drexel transfer Amari Williams on Sunday.

Williams, the three-time defensive player of the year in the Colonial Athletic Association, averaged 12.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game for the Dragons last season.

Kentucky’s current roster includes Williams and incoming freshmen Travis Perry and Collin Chandler. The Wilcats will likely be adding more players soon.

According to Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio, BYU transfer Richie Saunders is expected to visit Kentucky tonight and tomorrow. Saunders averaged 9.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per game for Pope and the Cougars last season.

Another hot name that seems to be trending towards Lexington is Utah State transfer Great Osobor. He averaged 17.7 points and 9.0 rebounds for the Aggies last season.

Kentucky is also reportedly involved with FAU transfer Johnell Davis.
