Kentucky is No. 21 in ESPN Power Rankings Thanks to Quality Wins

The Kentucky Wildcats (18-9) are No. 21 this week in ESPN’s Power Rankings.

According to the new system for determining NCAA Tournament resumes, the Wildcats have 11 Quadrant 1 and Quadrant 2 wins. Only 7 teams in college basketball have more quality wins than Kentucky.

As alluded to above, this is where things start getting strange for the SEC. The Wildcats had lost four in a row before beating Alabama on Saturday — and their résumé is markedly better than this time a week ago. Only seven teams have more Quadrant 1 and 2 wins than Kentucky’s 11.
