Kentucky held off a late rally from African team BAL Select to finish 3-0 in group play at the 2023 GLOBL JAM in Toronto.
The Wildcats led by 20, but BAL cut the lead down to 87-81 in the fourth quarter. Kentucky switched to a zone defense (not a misprint) to slow the African squad down. The Cats eventually finished with a 104-92 victory.
Antonio Reeves led the way with 27 points, including eight 3-pointers. DJ Wagner finished with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Reed Sheppard had his second consecutive brilliant game with 18 points and 8 assists. Justin Edwards chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Tre Mitchell finished with 12 points, 8 boards and 7 assists.
