Kentucky High School Players Catch Wildcats Attention

Since John Calipari has came to Kentucky, it has been rare that in-state products have gotten serious looks in recruiting.

Sure, they have Jarrod Polson and Jon Hood, but that has been it.

That thought process has changed this season as several recruits have caught the eye of Coach Cal and Orlando Antigua.

Everyone knows by now that Calipari watched Madison Central point guard Dominique Hawkins 3 times during the Sweet 16, while Antigua watched every game.

There was also  news that Jordan Major of Hopkinsville was being evaluated as a possible walk on for next season.

Now, AllKYHoops.com is reporting that Holmes sophomore star James Bolden is gotten phone calls from the UK staff since his Sweet 16 experience.

According to Holmes head coach Jason Booher, he has spoken to coaches from Kentucky several times about sophomore point guard star James “Beetle” Bolden.
“I have talked to the UK staff a couple of times since state tournament in regards to Beetle,” Booher said tonight. “Xavier, Cincinnati, Butler, Purdue and Alabama are others who have contacted me, as well.”

My guess these won’t be the last in-state recruits that could gain interest from Kentucky as the 2014 and 2015 classes are loaded with top talent.
