Kentucky Gets Out of Starkville with a Quadrant 1 Win

Kentucky held of a second half rally to escape Starkville with a 71-67 win over Mississippi State.

The Wildcats (20-3, 9-1 SEC) watched an 18-point lead evaporate after a 17-2 State run in the second half.

After a timeout, Kentucky managed to stop the rally and hold on for a key quadrant 1 win on the road.



P.J. Washington opened the game with 8 straight points. He finished with 23 points to lead all scorers. Keldon Johnson finished with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Ashton Hagans had 8 points and 9 assists for the Cats.

Lamar Peters led the Bulldogs (16-7, 4-6) with 16 points.

Kentucky will now prepare for a key homestand vs. No. 21 LSU and No. 1 Tennessee. College GameDay will be in town for the top 10 battle vs. the Volunteers.
