Kentucky Football one of “Best Bets” for better season than you might expect

Barton Simmons of 24/7 Sports has listed the “Best Bets” of teams they think will have a better season than you might expect this season.

The primary factors they isolated were returning production(as defined by ESPN’s Bill Connelly), head coach continuity, scheme continuity on offense, scheme continuity on defense, experience returning at quarterback (identity and leadership indicators) and a strong proven culture. With those characteristics in mind, we were able to isolate a 15 power five programs that may be well-positioned for better seasons than you might expect. Whatever record you envisioned for these teams before the quarantine, it may be worth plopping another win or two onto that total.

They may not be flashy but there’s a level of trust that comes with Kentucky and Wisconsin in the 2020 season. Kentucky is 25th in the country in returning production. Wisconsin is 34th. Both will continue to be defensive-minded but will have leadership at quarterback in Terry Wilson and Jack Coan, respectively.
