Kentucky Football Notes: More Boom News and Injury Report

The Boom Williams issue has taken the forefront of Kentucky Football news today, but there were also some injuries to talk about as well.

Here is a list of injuries from the Courier-Journal:

Injury report: Stoops called senior left tackle Jordan Swindle (groin) and sophomore defensive tackle Regie Meant (shoulder) “questionable at best” to play in Saturday’s game against Eastern Kentucky. Sophomore wide receiver Dorian Baker was wearing a cast on his right hand after practice Tuesday, but Stoops called it a preventative measure, and Baker said the cast would be off in time for the game. Freshman tight end C.J. Conrad and senior nose guard Melvin Lewis are also “dinged up a little bit” wearing walking boots, but Stoops expected them to be fully available for practice Wednesday.

The Boom News

Even though Mark Stoops said he was not certain if running back Stanley “Boom” Williams would definitely play or not, Running Backs Coach Chad Scott sounded a little more sure of his availability.

It sounds like we will know a lot more about Williams’ chances of playing tomorrow.

My thoughts

Am I the only one that thinks this is terrible timing for this program to be dealing with a situation like this?

The Kentucky Wildcats, a traditional doormat of the Southeastern Conference, has a taste of success in the conference and now their starting running back has personal issues.

Kentucky Football fans deserve a chance to enjoy the moment and now this distraction is killing their buzz.

Hopefully this situation gets fixed quickly because I would much rather be talking about being 4-1 going into the bye week rather than wondering if Stanley Williams will be a Boom or a Bust.
