Kentucky finds a way to beat Saint Joseph’s in overtime

Senior Tre Mitchell knocked down back-to-back three-pointers to help Kentucky pull out a 96-88 overtime win over Saint Joseph’s Monday night at Rupp Arena.

The Wildcats (4-1) overcame 15 made three-pointers by the Hawks to prevent a damaging November home loss.

D.J. Wagner finished with 22 points and 6 assists to lead Kentucky. Mitchell finished with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocked shots. Antonio Reeves chipped in 20 points and 5 boards.




Freshman Reed Sheppard had a fascinating stat line in the game. Sheppard only took one shot, finished with zero points but still had a game-high +/- of +16. He had 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals.

Erik Reynolds had a game-high 28 points for Saint Joseph’s.

The Wildcats return to action Friday night at Rupp Arena against Marshall (2-2). That game will tip at 7:00 p.m. ET and air live on the SEC Network.
