According to reports, the Kentucky Wildcats are expected to play New Mexico State in basketball during the 2017-18 season.

The NMSU football team is playing at Kentucky next season and apparently UK has promised the school a future men’s basketball game. According to the Courier-Journal, that game will occur in 2017-18.

According to the Courier-Journal, a date for the game has not been finalized, but a contract obtained by the Courier-Journal through a open records request reveals it will occur prior to the end of the 2017-18 season.

According to the Courier-Journal, if the basketball game is scheduled in time for the 2017-18 season, UK will pay the Aggies $120,000 in addition to the $1.3 million Kentucky is paying NMSU for the football game. If the game is not scheduled in time for the 2017-18 season, a separate contract would be agreed upon to manage any payment for that game, the Courier-Journal reported.
