Kentucky Drops in NET Rankings After Beating Ole Miss

Kentucky is 12-2 since a neutral court loss to Ohio State on December 21. Both of those losses were on the road in the Southeastern Conference.

Most folks who have watched the Wildcats in the past month would likely agree that John Calipari has his team headed in the right direction with March looming.

The problem now is that the NCAA’s computerized ranking system isn’t favoring the Wildcats at all. In fact, Kentucky dropped one spot in the rankings to No. 25 after yesterday’s win over Ole Miss.

That ranking has the Cats rated in the 6-7 seed range.

Currently, Michigan State sits at No. 12 despite having 9 losses and being 4-6 in their last 10 games.

Perhaps even more amazingly, Texas Tech is No. 20 today even with 9 losses that includes a home loss to Kentucky.

Even BYU is ahead of Kentucky at No. 22.
