Kentucky comes up short against Vanderbilt in SEC Tournament quarterfinals

The Kentucky Wildcats started hot but keep it going against a hot-shooting Vanderbilt team in Nashville last night.

The Commodores ended up with an 80-73 victory over the Wildcats in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals.

Ezra Manjon torched the Kentucky defense (or lack thereof) for 25 points. Tyrin Lawrence and Jordan Wright each added 18 points for Vanderbilt, which advances to today’s semifinal round against Texas A&M.

Antonio Reeves led the Wildcats (21-11) with 22 points. Jacob Toppin added a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Oscar Tshiebwe chipped in 19 points and 15 boards.

Vanderbilt is headed to the semifinals while the Cats will wait to find out where they are headed in next week’s NCAA Tournament.
