Just got back from Jackson, KY where I watched 22ft Academy and a collection of “All-Stars” from various Kentucky High Schools.
MiKyle McIntosh, 22ft guard who Orlando Antigua watched earlier in the season, got a visit from Alabama’s associate head coach Dan Hipsher tonight(pictured left). McIntosh has already received an offer from UCLA and recently took an official visit there. Alabama could possibly offer soon, that is if head coach Anthony Grant travels to Jackson tomorrow to watch McIntosh play vs. another band of Kentucky boys. I believe gametime is around 9pm.
Jamar Ergas, another possible future UK recruit, had a nice game as he showed off his shooting touch and his athleticsm. Only a sophomore, Ergas is a kid to keep an eye on down the road as his athleticism when he leaves the floor is definitely high major. There may be some question with his jumper, but he has two years to straighten it out.
Dominique Hawkins and the top players in the state of Kentucky will be trying out at Georgetown College for the Kentucky All-Star team that will play Indiana in the All-Star Classic. I am looking forward to watching Derek Willis possibly matching up with Omar Prewitt and hopefully see Hawkins face off with Cordia’s Emmanuel Owootoah.
Speaking of Owootoah, he has committed to Fresno State University. As far as I know, Fresno State was the Canadian’s only offer, and in my opinion it was mainly because of his size. Many coaches flocked to watch the 5’9″ point guard but didn’t take the hook.
I don’t think it is possible to have a recruiting article without mentioning Andrew Wiggins. As we wait here is the newest youtube video of this future superstar.
