Kentucky Basketball fans love to have in-state talent on their team and it looks like Coach John Calipari’s staff has been keeping up with one already during the AAU season.
UK assistant Joel Justus was at North Oldham High School in Goshen checking out 3-star combo guard and rising senior Justin Powell (6-5, 180) Wednesday.
The former Trinity guard who helped lead the Shamrocks to a Sweet 16 appearance as a sophomore in 2018, transferred briefly to prep powerhouse Montverde Academy in Florida before returning to the Bluegrass and sitting out last season. He is currently ranked as the No. 151 overall prospect in the 2020 class by 247Sports and holds offers from Auburn, Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Xavier among others.
