The Kentucky baseball team hammered No. 19 Louisville 17-5 Tuesday night at Kentucky Proud Park. The win is the third straight top 20 victory for the Wildcats (23-15, 8-10 SEC).
Senior Patrick Herrera led the Cats at the plate with a 3-for-3 performance. He finished with two runs, five RBI, a three-run triple, a home run, an HBP and a walk.

The senior infielder made sure if this was his final game in the Kentucky-Louisville rivalry it would be one nobody would soon forget, driving in a career-high five runs in UK’s 17-5 victory over No. 19 Louisville in seven innings on Tuesday night at Kentucky Proud Park. It is the Wildcats’ third straight win against a Top 20 opponent.
Herrera went 3-for-3 with two runs, five RBI, a three-run triple, a home run, an HBP and a walk.
It started early for the Cats (23-15), who scored in each of the first five innings. The Cats had a four-run second, four-run fourth and seven-run fifth after the Cardinals had cut the lead to 10-5. In addition to Herrera, Carson Hansen had a two-run home run, Tyler Bell and Kyuss Gargett each drove in three runs and seven different Cats scored multiple runs.
The Wildcats finished with 11 hits, 11 walks and six hit by pitch in the game.

Kentucky is 23-15 (8-10 SEC) on the season.
UK was hit by six pitches in the game.
It entered the game with 104 on the season, which ranked third nationally.
Raphael Pelletier became the fourth UK player to have at least one game this season with two or more HBP.
