New head coach Kenny Payne and the Louisville Cardinals can’t seem to catch a break so far this season.
The Cardinals have lost three consecutive games, all by a single point.
The most painful loss was likely Tuesday night when the Cards hit a game-winning shot and began celebrating a win over Appalachian State.
El Ellis doesn’t get it off in time and Louisville falls to 0-3. All three losses have come by a single point.

Moments later, officials reviewed the final shot by El Ellis and determined that it left his fingers a split second late. They waved the basket and the Mountaineers escaped with a 61-60 win to drop the Cardinals to 0-3.
