Internet rumors were rampant today as the talk was Joker Phillips had apparently resigned.
I don’t know how everything transpired because I have been running errands, but I believe the rumor was Mitch Barnhart supposedly spoke to Joker Phillips and told him he was going to be fired and Joker said forget that, he was going to quit.
Well, a ton of media types called UK Football spokesman Tony Neely and he said that Mitch and Joker haven’t seen each other in over 24 hours and that the rumor was completely false.
So, for now, Joker Phillips is still the head football coach and will be on the sidelines tomorrow night as the Wildcats play Steve Spurrier and the South Carolina Gamecocks.
