One of John Calipari’s former players and assistants has UMASS as one of the top teams in the nation and often texts and calls to get advice about his team.
Well, it seems that Derek Kellogg’s Minuteman (16-1 and ranked #13 in the country) are doing good enough for Cal to wonder if his former protege shouldn’t be giving him advice.
“I don’t know why he’s calling me for advice. His team’s better than we are,” Calipari joked. The Wildcats are No. 14 this week. “Derek’s always played and coached with this chip on his shoulder. That’s what I’m trying to get my group to have.”
