John Calipari said today on the Jim Rome Show that Tyler Ulis is the best floor general he has had.
That is saying a lot.

“Tyler Ulis is, in my mind, the best floor general that we’ve had, since I’ve coached. I mean, the best floor general,” Calipari told The Jim Rome Show. “Now what he’s learning to do is lead off the court. You can’t just lead on the court and then away from the court you kind of separate. He’s learning to really bring these kids together, because they’re looking for that.”
Along with Ulis, Calipari is counting on leadership from key returning players Alex Poythress and Marcus Lee, in hopes of helping another highly-touted freshmen class adjust to the world of college basketball.
“You’re not going to win unless you have good leadership, and it’s hard to have leadership that’s playing with some anxiety, because they don’t know. Those kids know,” Calipari said about the influence of Ulis, Poythress, and Lee.
