John Calipari Needs You to Recruit Julius Randle

This weekend there is a Kentucky Wildcats Alumni game in Rupp Arena which includes the 1996 national championship team and various NBA Cats to help raise money for charity.

Oh, there will also be a big time recruit in attendance and John Calipari wants the BBN to be there in full force to help sell the program.

Top 2013 recruit and #1 player in the country, Julius Randle, will be making a visit to Lexington to check out what any recruit checks out on a visit to a college.

Cal has written his own article on CoachCal.com begging the BBN to buy tickets to the Alumni Game and referred to Randle’s visit:

Keep in mind that we may have some other special people visiting that weekend who will want to see what the Big Blue Nation is capable of. We want to continue to show them that you can only do things like this at this level at Kentucky.

I think it would be a great weekend for any Kentucky fan that has the money to go watch basketball and then watch Kentucky play Western Kentucky at Commonwealth Stadium that night.

In my opinion, I think it is hard to put on one of these games every year and expect people to shell out a bunch of money for an exhibition game and especially not knowing who will actually play in the game.

I hope people turn out, but it sounds like the ticket is not as hot as Cal had hoped.

I’m a little disappointed to report that we haven’t sold all of our tickets for the lower bowl. If you are still on the fence about coming, allow me to clear up a few things for you.

Here are the ways you can purchase tickets:

Tickets for the alumni game can only be purchased at the Rupp Arena box office, online at Ticketmaster.com, at any Ticketmaster Outlet or by phone at 1-800-745-3000. All remaining seats are reserved and priced at $40 (lower level) and $20 (upper level). There is a four-ticket limit per person. Online orders and phone orders will have additional fees attached.
