Last night on the postgame radio show, John Calipari was using a Powerball analogy to describe the opportunities his players have in the future with professional basketball.
Calipari got really fired up and went on an epic rant while discussing the analogy.
Check out Coach Cal in rare form:
Calipari just went a little nuts with that lottery analogy. "PLAY! FIGHT! BATTLE! BE WORTH $100 MILLION" pic.twitter.com/DCakWGoNTi

Here’s a little backstory on Calipari’s Powerball analogy from Yahoo! Sports:
The back story begins with Calipari inviting his players over for dinner on Monday night, asking each to give him two dollars and then handing them all a single Powerball ticket in return. Then he asked the players if they knew the odds that the ticket they just bought would win the $1.3 billion jackpot.
“It’s 292 million to 1,” Calipari said on his radio show. “Your ticket ain’t winning. That ticket is not winning.”
Calipari’s take-home message was that none of his players need to rely on that long-shot Powerball ticket to win the lottery. They already own a ticket with far better odds — their natural talents both on the basketball floor and elsewhere.
“They all have a ticket. It’s them,” Calipari said. “Would you want to be in their shoes as an 18, 19, 20 year old?”
Then his voice rose and the above rant began.
“They all have a Powerball ticket!” he shouted. “Play! Fight! Battle! Be worth $100 million! What would you be afraid of? Wouldn’t you just say, ‘I’ve got nothing to lose?'”
