Over the last few years we’ve listened to Calipari poke fun at the NCAA as by questioning their relevance in today’s major collegiate sports (Baskteball and Football).
In his recent book “Players First: Coaching From the Inside Out.” Calipari actually compares the NCAA to the former Soviet Union.
The book reads:
“The situation reminds me a little of the Soviet Union in its last years. It was still powerful. It could still hurt you. But you could see it crumbling, and it was just a matter of time before it either changed or ceased to exist…. The NCAA will soon have to reform itself or it will not remain the dominant force in college athletics.”

With the recent court ruling at North Western that allows players to organize as a Union, and the Ed O’Bannon law suit regarding the NCAA using his likeness in a video game, it definitely seems like the NCAA is under attack (and rightfully so).
If you were the NCAA, what changes would you make to compensate student athletes appropriately?
