Florida head football coach Jim McElwain spoke about the upcoming Kentucky game and slobbered all over the job Mark Stoops has done and how good the Wildcats are playing.
McElwain also talked about Florida’s suspended players and their current status.
“I promise you this,” McElwain said, “when I know, I’ll let you know.”
UF Police Department spokesman Maj. Brad Barber on Thursday said the department’s investigation into the allegations of credit card fraud was still active and ongoing, adding that “these types of investigations do take some time to complete.” As of Monday morning, the investigation was not yet completed.
Nine players from the Florida football team — a group that includes starting running back Jordan Scarlett and star wide receiver Antonio Callaway — have been suspended since before Florida’s season-opening loss to Michigan on Sept. 2.
On Aug. 13, Florida announced the indefinite suspension of seven players: Callaway, freshman linebacker James Houston, freshman offensive lineman Kadeem Telfort, junior defensive end Keivonnis Davis, redshirt freshman defensive lineman Jordan Smith, redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Richerd Desir-Jones and freshman linebacker Ventrell Miller.
Scarlett and wide receiver Rick Wells were added to the list on Aug. 30.
