Ian Merideth, from “Rant Sports” think Jodie Meeks may be a key player in the upcoming season for the Lakers. With Kobe recovering from an achilles injury, the sharp shooting Meeks could definitely see more minutes.
Here’s what Merideth had to say..
Meeks is coming into his second year with the Los Angeles Lakers, and with the question marks surrounding Kobe Bryant‘s exact return date from his Achilles injury, Meeks will see plenty of minutes at the shooting guard position. Meeks is a three-point specialist, a skill much needed on the wing for the Lakers this year, and he will need to demonstrate that ability to stretch the floor
and take the scoring pressure off of Bryant and Pau Gasol throughout this upcoming year. Although Meeks is undersized at only 6-foot-4, he guards larger players effectively and is not a burden to the team on defense unlike a majority of offensive specialists.
He’s still a young player at 26 years of age, and with so many question marks surrounding the Lakers’ future, Meeks will be a player to watch as he’s likely to continue to mature as a player throughout the year.

If you’re like me, you just can’t get over not having Meeks during Calipari’s first year. There’s no way that team loses to anyone. Especially as the result of poor shooting.
And just because there’s no other way to start off a Monday, here’s Meeks dropping 54 on Tennessee.
