Kentucky went into Gainesville and escaped with an 87-85 win over Florida on Saturday.
Freshman Aaron Bradshaw gave the Wildcats (11-2, 1-0 SEC) a late lead with a three-pointer from the top of the key. From there, freshman Reed Sheppard knocked down six consecutive free throws to seal the victory.
Antonio Reeves led Kentucky with 19 points. Sheppard and D.J. Wagner each contributed 14 points. Tre Mitchell chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Kentucky returns to Rupp Arena for a game against Missouri on Tuesday night.
