During his introductory press conference, new Louisville head coach Scott Satterfield noted that he wants to establish relationships with all Kentucky high school coaches and keep talented players home.
It sounds like he has already burned a bridge with at least one high school.
Franklin-Simpson head coach Doug Preston says Louisville shouldn’t bother recruiting any of his players after they pulled a scholarship from Jack Randolph just days before signing day.
Check out his comments:
What I hate to see is our kids getting their scholarships pulled with only days to go until signing!! These kids have set their futures around what UL promised! They showed loyalty to their commitment and now they get burned! Ridiculous and no class @UofLFootball

@kyhighs @MikeFieldsKY @heraldleader Our kids get their scholarships pulled only days until signing!! These kids have set their futures around what UL promised! They showed loyalty to their commitment to @UofLFootball when all the others were jumping ship and now they get burned!

Coach Satterfield shouldn’t bother sending anyone down here to recruit in the future! I can’t look my players in the eyes and tell them to trust anyone @UofLFootball any longer!

Exactly! My guy set his whole senior year and graduation around enrolling early! this is a garbage move by @UofLFootball ! All the other schools have their committs locked up for the most part leaving our guys empty handed. My kid passed on several schools once he committed!

I’m a high school teacher and a coach!!! I’m about doing the kids right. It’s their future we are helping mold! So no I don’t have to understand or agree with it. This was a used car salesman move by Satterfield!

@UofLFootball @kyhighs And I haven’t even mentioned that our kid is a 33 ACT and could have applied for and won several full academic scholarships (but didn’t because he had a D1 football offer) but now the deadlines have passed for those. He even passed on Stanford University!

This isn’t fantasy football. These are real people!

@CoachSattUofL pathetic move coach! No excuse! Don’t come our way in the future. I will tell our players they can’t trust you. Then to have Pete call these kids is an even more low class move.

Franklin kids won’t be coming Louisville in the future.
— Doug Preston (@coachadp) December 11, 2018
Consider the bridge burnt then! There’s a lot more schools out there that our kids can play for!

Ouch. I think Franklin-Simpson is done with Louisville.
