Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin has publicly responded to criticism from former Louisville head coach Rick Pitino.
Bevin said Pitino is a “desperate, angry, bitter” person who “wants to lay blame everywhere but at his own feet.”

“Bevin’s buddy made it clear: Tom was in the crosshairs,” Pitino said in the book.
Bevin said Wednesday the Hall of Fame coach is trying to make sense of his life by blaming others.
“Now he just sounds like a desperate, angry, bitter person who wants to lay blame everywhere but at his own feet, which is where, frankly, so much of it belongs,” he said.
WHAS host Leland Conway did not ask Bevin whether he was motivated to oust the University of Louisville board as part of a strategy to either get a better deal on the Yum Center or to fire Jurich.
In the book, Pitino claimed that Jurich was a source of ire for state leaders amid the negotiations to revise the Yum Center deal.
