In what must be an effort to save his job, after writing a piece about Kentucky that was void of any potshots or ignorance, Gary Parrish (and Jeff Goodman) keep Anthony Davis at #2 in this weeks update on the POY race.
Here is what they have to say about AD.
He hasn‘t been nearly as dominant the past week or so in terms of his numbers, but he still continues to be a difference-maker. Averaged 11.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and three blocks per game in wins against Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Now has 133 blocks this season — the same number as Auburn, which is ranked 32nd in the nation in that category.
I wonder if they are aware that Davis had to sit for a good part of that Ole Miss game. If so, it would seem they are oblivious to the way the game changed with and without Davis on the floor.
It would also seem they are oblivous to the fact that, regardless of stats, Robinson isn’t even greatest impact player on his team as far as the outcome of games.
