A couple of days ago CBS Sports’ Gary Parrish sent out this tweet in advance of star recruit Malik Newman’s Friday announcement:
Malik Newman plans to publicly commit to Mississippi State this week, multiple sources have told @CBSSports. Story: http://t.co/vqxJQVmEFH
— Gary Parrish (@GaryParrishCBS) April 22, 2015
Newman and his dad later refuted the claim.
Fast forward to this afternoon shortly after Newman announced his decision to attend Mississippi State:
I reported Wednesday that Newman had already settled on MSU. He denied that report. But, simply put, his denial was dishonest. …

… By the time I posted the story, Newman had already canceled scheduled visits with schools and shut his recruitment down. That’s the truth.

So for the record, Newman is at fault and dishonest for wanting to keep one of the biggest decisions of his life private until his chosen announcement to the world.
I guess letting the kid have his moment is too much to ask.
What do you think of Parrish’s remarks?
