Several former cheerleaders took to social media today to respond to the scathing report released by UK this morning.
Here are some of the posts:

In regards to the UK Cheer allegations— Here I am doing a basket at the lake retreat.
1.) I am not being hazed
2.) I am not topless
3.) I am not under the influence pic.twitter.com/a6kdGVcuog— Alana Copas (@alanabcopas) May 18, 2020
WRONG. WRONG. WRONG. Actions are made by individuals and not influenced by the coaching staff AT ALL. Someone’s just mad they didn’t get what they wanted and trying to destroy a legacy. The coaches are the top in the industry and I’m proud to have be coached by them. https://t.co/jD9V0YLWWZ

It truly feels like a death has happened today. Please send good vibes and prayers to the incredible coaches, athletes, and alumni of @KentuckyCheer that are devastated and broken from this. And please don’t believe the media. There’s always two sides to a story.

Hazing is bad. However hazing DID NOT TAKE PLACE. Everyone on the team had a CHOICE. If you did not want to do it, you didn’t have to and should not have done it. https://t.co/wn5uPSM5Cd

What Jomo and T.Lynn stand for and what they teach us is more than just cheerleading. They have always put the best interests for us. I wouldn’t trade my memories, the experiences, the lessons and friendships provided by T Lynn, Jomo and the U.K. Cheer program for anything!

This program has been nothing besides outstanding & produces outstanding people because of the guidance our coaches provided for us. I pray people don’t give in to lies that went too far. https://t.co/9CLlt4wgio

I stand for programs and institutions that ingrain positive lifelong values into my character. The University of Kentucky has done just that, let alone the program I have dedicated and sacrificed for during the last four of my twelve years cheerleading.

When I tell you my heart BREAKS for my coaches. These people did EVERYTHING they could to shape the future for people’s lives OUTSIDE OF CHEERLEADING !!!! That is what made them different. I’d give up all four of my rings for them to not have to go through this bullshit

This isn’t right! The coaches for the Kentucky Cheer program have always been professionals and have never pressured any athletes into misconduct! https://t.co/hlHBQXMjPE

This program is the epitome of professionalism. It’s not only made me a better athlete, but also a much better person. This greatly affects myself and my teammates who have worked our whole lives to get to this university/team. Please don’t feed into lies that are hurting us. https://t.co/IJs44Ah4jj

You’re really trying to make people you probably don’t even know sound like bad people. Individuals do what individuals do and coaches didn’t force anybody to do anything. https://t.co/V978l6naPJ
