Following the unfortunate and almost undeserved loss to the Georgia Bulldogs, it’s important to reflect on how far this Kentucky Wildcat team has come.

It wasn’t too long ago that many Kentucky Wildcat fans were calling for Stoops head. They wanted him fired immediately and lost all hope for the remainder of the football season. After the loss to Southern Miss in Lexington to start the season, then the complete obliteration of the Wildcats by the Florida Gators, it didn’t look like the season was going to have much positivity starting 0-2.
However, something happened. I don’t know what it was, maybe it was magic, the Wildcats went on to beat New Mexico State, South Carolina, Vandy, Mississippi State and Missouri with only a loss to Alabama and now Georgia mixed in. The season was revived and the Wildcats are still in the hunt to make it to a bowl game this season, something that hasn’t happened in way too long for the Wildcats.
Not only are the almost bowl bound, they’re at the top of the SEC East. I know, the SEC East is not exactly great right now, but more often than not, the Wildcats had been at the bottom, no matter how good or bad the East was. They had a chance against Georgia to be in the lone spot of the SEC East #1 spot and let it slip away, but it’s still not out of the question for the Wildcats to make their way to was SEC Tournament in Atlanta. Is it likely? No, they’d have to beat Tennessee in Knoxville and Florida would have to lose to both South Carolina and LSU, which could happen, sure, it’s just not all that likely.
Either way, the Wildcats have revived their season and have instilled the love and support back from those fair weather fans that gave up on them before they found themselves.
I guess we can all agree that Mark Stoops has the potential to keep directing this program in the right direction, especially now with Eddie Gran on his side.
