Nice win for the Young Kentucky Wildcats after their 11 day and 1 half layoff over Mississippi State to get their 1st conference win.
Here are some quick observations:
1. James Young continues to be the key to the offense. If he isn’t hitting shots, I wonder who would step up and hit them?
2. Alex Poythress continues to impress and is showing he can get to the rim and tear it off, with a little help from his teammates. Poythress is a great addition to a very talented team.
3. Dakari Johnson played very well…but it is really the first time he has got to play. Hopefully we will see more of the big fella this Saturday at Vanderbilt.
4. It was great to see Jon Hood back on the floor. It was the first time since Hood had played since the end of November because of his concussion in practice.
5. Dominique Hawkins continues to give a lot of nice minutes, but he is going to have to shoot some of those wide open threes. Gaining confidence happens in practice and I am sure Hawkins will be shooting a lot of shots from deep in the Craft Center.
Nice win…feel free to throw in your observations in the comments below.
