Five Kentucky recruits ranked in the ESPN Top 300 for 2014

Drew Barker

ESPN recently came out with its updated top 300 rankings, and Kentucky has five players ranked.

Four-star Florida defensive lineman Denzel Ware is the highest ranked Kentucky recruit. Ware comes in ranked #89 overall and the #9 ranked defensive end in the nation.

Drew Barker, a four-star quarterback from Conner High School comes in as the 160th ranked player in the class and the #6 rated quarterback overall. Barker is also an Elite 11 quarterback.

Ohio wide receiver Thaddeus Snoddgrass is ranked #191. Snoddgrass, a four-star recruit is also the 26th best receiver for the 2014 class.

Georgia running back Stanley “Boom” Williams is ranked #211. Williams, a four-star running back, is the #16 ranked running back according to ESPN.

Four-star Ohio defensive back Darius West is ranked # 258. West is the 21st ranked defensive back in the nation.

Two more recruits who have not yet committed and are being recruited hard by Kentucky also made the Top 300. Josh Malone a four-star wide receiver is ranked #99, and Moral Stephens another four-star wide receiver is ranked #194.

It is good to see so many Kentucky recruits ranked this high. I can’t remember the last time we had this many recruits ranked, if ever. If Kentucky keeps recruiting like this the future looks bright for the football program.
