The court the Kentucky Wildcats won a national championship on in New Orleans this past April will be coming to Lexington.
Rupp Arena’s locker rooms are in the process of being renovated and the sacred floor will be going in them.
A large section of the floor – including the center court logo – will be installed in the locker rooms, which are currently being renovated. The floor puts a tangible reminder of UK’s championship season literally underfoot of UK players as they prepare for games beginning this fall.
The championship floor will be delivered in a special truck. Northwestern Mutual – which purchased and donated the floor to UK – will hand over the keys to Coach John Calipari at Rupp Arena. Details will also be announced on how the flooring will be used to raise funds for charity.
