Kentucky fans will have the opportunity Saturday to not only cheer on the current UK football team against No. 1 Alabama, but also to honor some UK football legends.
On top of Saturday being Steve Meilinger Day, who will be honored in the second quarter for his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame, UK will also recognize former Wildcats from 1973-81 that played under Coach Fran Curci in the first quarter.
The 2013-14 UK women’s basketball team will also be introduced to UK fans during the first quarter, while donors to the renovation/expansion of the Gatton College of Business and Economics, along with leaders and faculty from the College of Arts and Sciences will be introduced between the first and second quater.
Below is a list of honorees:
First Quarter – Former players from 1973-81 as part of Coach Fran Curci Reunion; 2013-14 UK women’s basketball team
Between First and Second Quarters – Donors to the renovation/expansion of the Gatton College of Business and Economics, along with leaders and faculty from the College of Arts and Sciences
Second Quarter – 2013 College Football Hall of Fame Inductee Steve Meilinger
