ESPN says to Buy Your Tyler Herro Stock Now

Kentucky Basketball freshman Tyler Herro opened a lot of eyes in the BBN and also the country as he took over on offense in the Bahamas.

ESPN thinks the time is now to buy your stock in Tyler Herro.

Herro’s not Calipari’s highest-rated freshman this season, but the 6-foot-5 shooting guard looked awfully comfortable functioning as his offense’s de facto featured scorer in the Bahamas. In four games, Herro showed an ability to score efficiently from both sides of the arc while personally accounting for 28 percent of the Wildcats’ shot attempts during his minutes.

Justus told me the freshman’s performance was just more of what the coaching staff has come to expect. “I don’t think any of us were surprised at all by how Tyler played,” he said. “He has an extreme confidence that comes from hard work.”

Granted, Herro had help. PJ Washington led all scorers in Kentucky’s win over Mega Bemax, Nick Richards excelled at getting to the line and sinking his free throws (shooting 84 percent), and Immanuel Quickley recorded 18 assists in 186 offensive possessions while committing only two turnovers. This offense is loaded, and it now appears even more so with Herro’s solid performance.

Every Kentucky team that made it to the Final Four had a great shooter and Tyler Herro has the makeup of a stone cold killer from the perimeter.

I know who I want to have the basketball when the game is on the line.
