We’re about 32hrs away from the first game of the Joker Phillips era and the team is looking and sounding very confident. We listen to Mike Hartline talk about the great work the receiving corp has done this season and he just needs to “get them the ball”.
Joker also talks about some of the details they’ve been working on and leaves us guessing on what their decision might be if they win the coin flip. In the past, Rich Brooks has always deferred but this might be a game where you want to take control of as early as possible.
It was also reported that Chris Mathews will wear #13 in honor of injured teammate Gene McCaskill. Mathews normally wears #8
The CATS also got hit with some bad news as 2011 Football recruit Clint Tucker de-committed from UK and has chosen to go to Illinois. Tucker is 6’2”, 285lbs and lives in East St. Louis.
On the basketball news front, Jerry Myers says Calipari might make a push for Tony Wroten Jr. as UK might want to add another guard to next years class. If Cal goes for Wroten, it will be a UK vs. UofL battle for sure. Pitino has a great chance to get Wroten due to the friendship between Q. Miller.
Cal is also making a push for Andre Drummond who is thought to be the #1 player in the 2012 lass.
