Sophomore quarterback Drew Barker will undergo season-ending surgery on his back, Mark Stoops announced Thursday. Barker will have surgery the week of Thanksgiving.
“We’ve exhausted all treatment that doesn’t involve surgery and it has not improved to the level our doctors are comfortable with,” Stoops said. “So we are scheduled for surgery the week of Thanksgiving. So he will be done for the year.”
Barker started three games for the Wildcats this season, completing 50 percent (18-26) of his passes for 334 yards with four touchdowns and five interceptions.
