DeMarcus Cousins has been named NBA Western Conference Player of the Week for games played the week of Jan. 6-12, the league announced Monday. Cousins averaged 25 points, 12.7 rebounds & 3.3 assists, leading the Kings to a 3-0 record over the span.
DMC ranked seventh in scoring (25.0 ppg), second in rebounding (12.7 rpg) and eighth in minutes (37.2 mpg). Cousins recorded his 10th consecutive double-double & 23rd of the season during the stretch.
Here is a recap of the week’s games for Cousins:
Jan. 7 vs. Portland: Tallied 35 points and 13 rebounds in a 123-119 win over the Trail Blazers.
Jan. 10 vs. Orlando: Scored 24 points and added 14 rebounds, six assists and three steals in a 103-83 win over the Magic.
Jan. 12 vs. Cleveland: Posted 16 points and 11 rebounds during a 124-80 win over the Cavaliers.
This is DMC’s first time winning the award.
